Author Bio
Des Wilson was born in New Zealand in 1941, and left school at 15 to become a journalist. He travelled to London in 1960 and has since become well-known as a politician and campaigner on social issues (he was founder-director of the housing campaign SHELTER and the Campaign for Freedom of Information). He has been a columnist on the Guardian and The Observer, and a contributor to The Times, The Spectator and The New Statesman. He has also appeared frequently on radio and TV. He lives in Cornwall.
