Lee Child

Lee Child, real name Jim Grant, is a bestselling British thriller author, best known for his Jack Reacher series which follows the adventures of a former American military policeman. After an 18 year career as a presentation director at Granada Television in Manchester, Child was made redundant due to corporate restructuring. He took this opportunity to write Killing Floor in 1997, the first book in the Jack Reacher series, which went on to win the Anthony Award for the Best First Novel. There are now over 20 books in the Jack Reacher series, which consistently achieve the number one slot on both sides of the Atlantic. The series has also been adapted into a film where Tom Cruise plays Jack Reacher.
