Synopsis

This book descibes vinyl-mania. This highly original collection, made in collaboration with Colors magazine, brings new meaning to the term 'album art' - what's featured is not record covers but records themselves, in a plethora of colors, shapes, and forms. This book showcases over 400 records owned by Guinness-award-winning collector Alessandro Benedetti. From artists such as Pink Floyd, Queen, the Beatles, Prince, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Bon Jovi, and many others, these rare and valuable records run the gamut from gold to transparent to painted, photo-printed, or shaped like a map, butterfly, heart, star, or even a tree!

Author Bio
Italian record producer, songwriter, and performer Giorgio Moroder has worked with some of the world's most successful recording stars, including Donna Summer, David Bowie, Janet Jackson, and Barbara Streisand, among many others. Moroder is also the founder of the former Musicland Studios in Munich, where legendary acts from Led Zeppelin and Queen to Elton John recorded. Alessandro Benedetti has built up a personal collection of records that includes about 8,000 discs of various types. In 1981 he started collecting colored vinyl records and in 1998 his collection of colored vinyl won recognition in The Guinness Book of Records. The collection now includes about 1,200 colored vinyl discs. Alessandro has appeared on several TV talk shows, and his records were featured in an exhibition in 1999. His dream is to open a record museum so he can share his collection with the public.
