by Adrian Davies (Author)
Using the image as a starting point, the author aims to show us in easy steps how the image was taken, enhanced on the computer and output in the desired form. The language aims to be non-technical, with easy-to-use captions, diagrams and screen-grabs, making it possible for us to immediately start using digital photography. Digital cameras, scanners and printers are all discussed so that we can understand the basic tools of the trade and how they differ from what we are used to. Then the versatility of the computer is looked at, from adjusting brightness and contrast, sharpening a slightly out-of-focus image, removing scratches, adding and removing colour and many other amazing effects. Lastly the printing or emailing of the image is examined, as well as adding text, mounts and other options.
