Trump Bubbles: The Dramatic Rise and Fall of High-Conflict Politicians

Trump Bubbles: The Dramatic Rise and Fall of High-Conflict Politicians

by Bill Eddy (Author)

Synopsis

Trump Bubbles: The Dramatic Rise and Fall of High-Conflict Politicians is the first book to really explain the rise and fall of Donald Trump, candidate for President of the United States of America. What's a trump bubble? It's when emotions trump thinking in politics. When fear trumps facts. When leader love trumps logic. Donald Trump is the most recent trump bubble, but trump bubbles have occurred before and will again. Remember the dot.com bust of 2000? The housing and stock market bubbles that burst in 2008? They were held up by irrational exuberance. Now there's the Donald Trump Bubble. People love him or hate him or are totally confused. However, he is quite predictable, if you understand high-conflict personalities. Trump Bubbles explains the rise-and-fall pattern of high-conflict politicians, focusing on the case of Donald Trump and the questions people ask: * Why do people compare him to Adolf Hitler in the 1920's? * Why do people defend him despite his outrageous statements and beliefs? * Will he become reasonable if he ever becomes President? * Does he have narcissistic personality disorder? * Will he settle on a set of policies, or will he keep changing impulsively? * Could he be a good thing for American politics? * Would he start World War III? * How do you stop trump bubbles once they start? * What happens when a trump bubble bursts? To answer these questions, award-winning author, Bill Eddy, relies on social science, psychology and history, as well as his years of training professionals in dealing with high-conflict personalities and situations. It's a beautiful thing!

Bill's well-documented explanation of this phenomenon is fascinating and informative, as he clearly illustrates the perils for our nation of having a high-conflict person in a major leadership position of power. Informed by his vast background in studying high-conflict people, Bill offers warnings along with reasonable recommendations for preventing these 'Trump Bubbles' from taking us in; for the sake of us all, we need to heed his warnings and take his recommended actions to heart! --Donald T. Saposnek, PhD, author of Mediating Child Custody Disputes: A Strategic Approach and co-author of Splitting America: How Politicians, Super PACs and the News Media Mirror High Conflict Divorce What's so fascinating is the historical context Eddy provides to shed light on the Trump bubble. From the rise and fall of Nazi Germany, to McCarthyism, to the Vietnam War and the Iraq War, Eddy points out how political leadership by narcissistic personalities is nothing new in our society. What's new, Eddy demonstrates, are the fairly recent cultural, economic, and social changes, including American media practices, that have created the perfect storm culminating in the dangerous state of American politics in 2016. We, as a country, are at a political crossroads, with even more at stake than we first believed. Eddy offers concrete recommendations on how each of us can respond to 'Trump bubbles' now and in the future. This book should be required reading before voting for any candidate. --Alison L. Patton, Esq., attorney, mediator, and contributing writer to Huffington Post and lemonadedivorce.com No matter where you stand on the politic spectrum, you have a responsibility to read this book. Bill Eddy brings the reality of our world into focus through the lenses of history, psychology, and politics. He gives us all a way to make sense of the high-conflict culture in which we live and offers the long-overdue gift of sound, down-to-earth advice about how to maintain our sanity, if not our civilization. If only Trump Bubbles had been in print seventy or eighty years ago, humanity would today be in a far healthier place. --Benjamin D. Garber, PhD, author of Holding Tight/Letting Go, Developmental Psychology for Family Law Professionals, and Keeping Kids Out of the Middle
