It is true you can crochet with wire and it lends itself very well to this, from jewellery to household items. If you already enjoy this craft, fortunately you won't need many extra materials, you can even use your own crochet hooks, although metal ones are more suitable. The basic stitches are also the same, so it shouldn't take long to get to grips with the feeling of working with wire as opposed to wool. If a project incorporates beading, thread them on first.

I thought that this book might be a little bit 'way out' by the title but surprisingly it features some beautiful projects including purses and boxes as well as jewellery. Even if you have never crocheted there are diagrams of the simpler stitches which obviously need mastering first. The jewellery is very wearable like the silver and crystal necklace, earrings and bracelet set suitable for evening or bridal wear. There are some lovely pieces with silver wire and gemstones. Comprehensive info on tools and clasps, and each project is marked Easy, Intermediate or Beginner. Most projects are at the Easy stage.
