Synopsis

Behind the normal door of a normal house, in a normal street, two men are slowly driving each other insane. One of them is a psychopath. The father: Mr Todd is at his wits' end. He's been robbed of his job as a tax inspector and is now stuck at home... with him. Frustrated. Lonely. Angry. Really angry. The son: Adrian has no job, no friends. He is at home all day, obsessively chopping vegetables and tap-tap-tapping on his computer. And he's getting worse, disappearing for hours at a time, sneaking off to who-knows-where? The unholy spirit: in the safety of suburbia, one man has developed a taste for killing. And he'll kill again.

Media Reviews
Praise for Sweet William: A compassionate novel imbued with a deep knowledge of mental health issues...Tense and insightful...A heart stopping thriller with a powerful denouement. Paul Burke, Nudge Books; Extremely well written and very frightening. Barbara Nadel; A breathless journey through fear and love, that explores how interdependent those two extreme emotions are. Ewan Morrison; Tense...astounding...dark and chilling...and shockingly realistic. Gripping and immersive... an intelligently written thriller that deals with the intricacies of the human brain, mixed up with the emotional ties of the family. Anne Cater, Random Things Through my Letterbox; Iain Maitland's knowledge and expertise come across on every page. Taut, darkly humorous and heartbreaking all at the same time, with an unforgettable narrator, Sweet William packs a real emotional punch. Lisa Gray, Daily Record; A dark, rocket-paced thriller that will give plenty to think about. Jon Wise, Sunday Sport; A story of danger, delirium and devastation...an absolutely electrifying read that gripped me from start to finish. Alix Long, Delightful Book Reviews; An edgy and ultimately terrifying read...Iain Maitland pulls off and captures the whole thing through Raymond's flippant reasoning. It makes petrifying reading....This is an edge of your seat, nail-biting read that will haunt you way after you finish reading. Books from Dusk Till Dawn.
