Media Reviews
'As compelling and entertaining as the man himself, McCallum's first book dazzles.'-Joanna Lumley; 'This is crime as light comedy, with a broad cast of characters, and you're not supposed to take any of it seriously. There are guns, a fetching detective and bags of money. It's a three-card monte as to who winds up where with what and whom.'-The Washington Post; 'While occasional bits of humor add levity to the plot, McCallum keeps a near hard-boiled edge to the story. It seems McCallum had a lot of fun writing Once a Crooked Man, as will his readers devouring his energetic novel.'-The Daily Mail; 'An ingenious crime novel which moves at a considerable lick.'-Barry Forshaw, Crime Time; 'A spellbinding thriller that has tension, momentum and certainly an actor's skewed eye of the world. A very strong debut, 5/5'-Crime Squad; 'Publication of this debut novel by actor David McCallum is a huge coup for Sandstone Press, and also a delight for readers of the chase thriller. '-Shots Mag; 'David McCallum of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and NCIS fame confidently embarks on a second career in his highly entertaining debut, a blend of espionage novel and thriller.'-Miami Herald
