Synopsis

Taking care of your gut is important. This unique and innovative cook book shows you how to eat a balanced and healthy diet that keeps your digestive system happy. It introduces a whole new way of eating with a unique plan developed specifically at Grayshott Spa, one of the world's leading health spas. By focusing on digestive health as a route to true health, the Grayshott Plan helps to boost your energy and rebalance weight safely through a nutrient rich diet that will give you everything you need to face the demands of modern life.

The Plan dispels the misguided notion of `detoxifying' through spartan, punitive regimes and instead focuses on regaining good health by eating the right foods to aid the body's natural detoxification. Recommending quality grass-fed red meats, fish, eggs, fermented foods, butter, avocado, and organic vegetables, it's a sensible and satisfying approach to food that brings you back to feeling great. Packed full of information and meal plans for a short-term course to rest and repair your digestive tract, the book also contains 100 delicious meals split into breakfasts, soups, main meals, vegetable sides, salads and special occasions and includes delicious, satisfying and nourishing meals like:

Baked eggs with tomatoes, peppers and chorizo, porchetta with plum and fig chutney, grilled sole fillets marinated in ginger and tangerine, crayfish cakes with coconut and mango and many more!

Media Reviews

'One of 2015's biggest healthy-eating books.'

'This book boasts excellent dairy-free seasonal recipes designed to boost digestive health. Its breakfast section is particularly inspired.'

This is the kind of cookbook that makes me salivate. The recipes are beautifully photographed, sound delicious and absolutely don't read like diet recipes.

`Beautifully produced, it is the most inspiringly elegant diet/health plan you could want.'

`The 100-plus recipes incorporate principles for cleansing and healing the digestive system.'

`Based on the Grayshott Spa programme for cleansing and healing, this book is beautifully shot by the photographer Lisa Linder. It is a pleasure to look at, but also a pleasure to cook from - not something you can often say about a health-food book.'

`This big, glossy book has lots of achievable recipes incorporated into a 21-day eating plan.'

`This book looks great - aided by fabulous photography from Lisa Linder - and will provide a useful addition to any kitchen which considers the health of its guests.'

'While the details of the plan may imply deprivation, the opposite is actually true. Dishes are satisfying and occasionally border on indulgent, such as confit of duck, porchetta with plum and fig chutney, and roasted tamarind, chilli, ginger, and coriander chicken. The authors include wonderful full-colour photos, which make these meals even more appealing. For those seeking better health, there is much here to consider and entice.'
