You're so clumsy Charley

You're so clumsy Charley

by Colin Shelbourn (Illustrator), Colin Shelbourn (Illustrator), Jane Binnion (Author)

Synopsis

This book is about dyspraxia, a neurological condition affecting 1 in 10 people, but it is still very misunderstood. We chose not to name it in the story because this book is for every child that is different.

Media Reviews
My 7 year old step son had serious self-esteem issues because of dyspraxia and dyslexia and when he read this he said 'I like Charley, he's like me!' It did him good to realise he isn't the only person with these issues. A wonderful book, perfect for little people who are a little bit unique! Fabulous book. My daughter loved reading it and it made her feel so much better about herself. This little book is lovely. It is geared towards children and aimed at helping them to understand their difference. It is really worth reading. Well done Jane. a simple but thought provoking book on a child who is different, getting the child to focus on what he can do rather than what he can't. A good book which will stimulate debate between adult and children who have difficulties in coping with being different.
Author Bio
Jane grew up with dyspraxia and watched her daughter do the same. Driven by frustration at people's misunderstanding of this condition, particularly within the education system, Jane decided to write a children's book that would hopefully get children and adults talking about what it is like to be different and why this is not necessarily a bad thing.
