what will remain: A harrowing and captivating war novel born out of the author's experiences of serving in Afghanistan

by Dan Clements (Author)

Synopsis

what will remain is a war novel born out of the author's own experiences of serving with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan. It consists of a series of distinct but closely interwoven stories told against the backdrop of the conflict: fragments of memory, sorrow and hope that build like impressionistic brushstrokes upon a canvas to create a profound and essential tableau of modern war and its place in society. Steeped vividly in the sun, sweat and sand of the Helmand front line but centred firmly within the treacherous battlefield of the human heart, what will remain is a harrowing and utterly captivating account from a richly talented debut author.

Tom Williams, screenwriter of Kajaki: The True Story; 'Dan Clements is the genuine article. A dedicated and talented writer who tells it not how we might want it to be, but how it is.' Sam Jordison
