Media Reviews
This book gives carers fact-based advice and an opportunity to learn as Wakefield optimistically forges lessons for others from what have often been traumatic experiences for her and her family. Arguably, those most in need of reading this story are people who have no experience of schizophrenia beyond media portrayals and the health professionals who have the power to make a difference, but have perhaps lost sight of the individuals behind the illnesses they treat. Kerry Stanley, One-in-Four Magazine, UK. August 2010 Schizophrenia causes incalculable suffering to both patients and their families. This book is reflective of a journey that unfortunately far too many patients and their families have to make. The book incapsulates the hoplessness of the situation, the frustration and finally the glimmer of hope as the whole family slowly move forward on the long road to recovery. Julia Bileckji, indpendent healthcare management consultant.
