Going Loco: Further adventures of a Scottish Country Doctor

Going Loco: Further adventures of a Scottish Country Doctor

by Dr Tom Smith (Author), Dr Tom Smith (Author)

Synopsis

Picking up from where bestselling A Seaside Practice left off, Dr Tom Smith is back with more of his gloriously eccentric stories. This time, as a young locum and medical researcher, he goes much further afield. Although based in his beloved Scottish highlands, he now has to travel wherever he is called, from Rio to Jerusalem, Vienna to Singapore. Part memoir, part travelogue, Going Loco takes us on a dizzying journey around the medical world - from the challenge of a make-shift surgery in the African bush, to the terror of smuggling beagles into Amsterdam on behalf of a global pharmaceutical company. We encounter extraordinary characters on the way - impossible patients, brave souls and more than a smattering of crazy doctors. Going Loco is a gripping read, full of the colour and charm of Dr Tom's previous book - this young doctor on the move is great company.
