A fascinating account of two lives lived in parallel; the chances of their meeting were almost impossible. Marcelle Wegier grows up in war-torn Europe, escapes to America and by chance attends the wedding of her parents' secretary in England. Meanwhile, Tony grows up in England, nearly dies from pneumonia in his teens and attends the wedding of a friend. Their stories are gripping reading back into a time when the world was a very different place.
