Synopsis

On the planet Wodan, an acolyte of the Tenebrae faith bears witness to the resurrection of his god, Saint Scarlet of Durham. But when former Strontium Bitch Durham Red awakes after 1,200 years in suspended animation she's more than surprised to find that she is at the centre of a mutant religion. While the Tenebrae revere her return, the deadly human Iconoclasts want nothing more than to eradicate her and her brethren. Caught in a web of extremism and intolerance Durham Red has to come to terms with a destiny she never expected. Dan Abnett (Sinister Dexter) brings you a thrilling gothic space opera beautifully illustrated by Mark Harrison (Glimmer Rats).

Author Bio
Dan Abnett is the co-creator of 2000 AD series Atavar, Badlands, Sancho Panzer and Sinister Dexter. He has also written Black Light, Downlode Tales, Durham Red, Flesh, Future Shocks, Judge Dredd, Pulp Sci-Fi, Roadkill, Rogue Trooper, The VCs, Vector 13 and Venus Bluegenes, as well as The Scarlet Apocrypha and Wardog for the Megazine. A prolific creator, Abnett has also written for Marvel, Dark Horse and DC Comics. He is the author of twenty novels for the Black Library, including the bestselling Gaunt's Ghosts series. His most recent work outside the Galaxy's Greatest Comic is DC's Legion and Superman, and Wildstorm's Mr Majestic. Dan Abnett was voted Best Writer Now at the 2003 National Comic Awards. Mark Harrison is perhaps best known to 2000 AD fans for his striking, computer-aided Durham Red artwork, but he has also illustrated Judge Dredd, Glimmer Rats, Pulp Sci-Fi and Strontium Dogs. He also contributed a story to the Megazine's Durham Red-based The Scarlet Apocrypha series, and -- rare for a 2000 AD artist -- has even written two Pulp Sci-Fi stories! Outside of 2000 AD he has provided covers for Dark Horse's Star Wars series and Topps' Star Wars trading cards.
