by Ann Benson (Author)
In beadpoint, Learn how to sew beads on to canvas in delicate diagonals, giving much the same look as traditional needlepoint, although unlike wool, their lustred and metallic finishes reflect light, so exquisite effects can be created easily. Beads are also especially well suited to creating accessories like purses and bags. That's because the base canvas holds its shape perfectly, supporting the beads and embellishments. Here, author Ann Benson includes tips on working from a chart, putting a design on canvas, and reshaping the canvas before finishing. She shows how to brighten a bedroom with a pretty pastoral landscape on the reverse of a hand mirror, how to brighten a dull corner with a stunning picture of birds and camellias and how to enhance an evening dress with a beautiful rose bag. There are many other projects, including cushions, hearts, panels and ornaments.
This book will appeal to embroiderers and anyone interested in beads, whatever their skill levels. Eye-catching projects combined with clear, easy-to-follow instructions give all the support needed to create original, stunning beaded items.

A book which features sewing beads onto canvas in a similar style to counted embroidery or cross stitch. However, this book differs in that the designs are fully beaded and don't leave any bare fabric. We loved the 'dense' look this gave the projects and found they were a lot more colourful and bold than some in other books. The projects include some more unusual ideas such as button covers and collars as well as those we expected, ie brooches, pictures etc. Some of the projects are quite large scale and would satisfy anyone interested in spending a bit more time on an item.
