Like Scott of the Antarctic 100 years before, Alan Murphy's 'Voyage of Discovery' originated in the Scottish city of Dundee. Following his degree in Political Science and History, he travelled extensively throughout South America. Alan then took up residence in La Paz working for the fledgling Bolivian Times newspaper. He now lives in Bath.
