Perfect Neutrals: Colour You Can Live With

by StephanieHoppen (Author)

Synopsis

Bringing life and warmth into our homes, creating comfort and atmosphere, colour is once more an important aspect of modern decorating. Classic neutral tones -the ubiquitous range of white, cream, beige and taupe- have evolved and expanded to include a new collection of colours from which to build a comfortable contemporary decorating scheme. In Perfect Neutrals, Stephanie Hoppen presents the full spectrum of modern neutrals, from jade to olive green, duck-egg blue to indigo and rose pink to aubergine, and shows how they can be used to create sophisticated, elegant interiors. Through chapters 'Off-whites', 'Greys', 'Blues', 'Greens', Pinks', 'Sunny Tones' and 'Earth & Spice Colours' she describes the decorating possibilities that can be achieved through application, layering and texture. Each chapter progresses from the palest shade through the mid tones to the darkest, with a paint palette and moodboard for each one that brings together a selection of the best paints, fabrics and flooring materials available today for each colour group. Illustrated with beautiful photographs by Luke White, Stephanie showcases the work of interior designers around the world to demonstrate how to balance colours, introduce accents and use various materials to achieve different effects. With a comprehensive list of recommended suppliers, tips and advice from professional designers, practical information and creative inspiration, Perfect Neutrals takes the legwork out of decorating and shows you how to use colour with confidence.
