Author Bio
Jaap ter Haar was born in Holland in 1922 and was a member of the Dutch resistance. On a visit to Russia in the 1950s Jaap was shown the burial place and the memorial to the million who died during the siege by a young writer who had survived. This incident inspired him to write The Ice Road.
