French Hotels, Chateaux and Inns (Special Places to Stay French Hotels, Chateaux and Other Places)

French Hotels, Chateaux and Inns (Special Places to Stay French Hotels, Chateaux and Other Places)

by Susan Luraschi (Editor)

Synopsis

This is a seductive collection of over 330 hotels, chateaux, auberges and other places, which are beautiful, unusual and of great value - all selected and inspected in the best Sawday tradition: they are here because we like them. At inns, or restaurants with rooms, food takes priority and le terroir - seasonal, fresh and local food - is de rigueur. These Special Places are just that - special, for they have been selected for their fascination and character, and also for the people who run them.

Author Bio
Alastair has been publishing the Special Places to Stay guides since 1994. His travel publishing company was born of a successful tour company that took groups on off-the-beaten-track trips across Europe. An avid environmentalist (founder of Avon Friends of the Earth and currently a trustee of the Soil Association), he is keen to celebrate B&B and hotel owners who provide organic and local food. Alastair Sawday Publishing has earned a reputation for selecting original places that exude character and warmth and for describing them vividly in fresh and honest write-ups. We have no interest in standard star ratings and always go for atmosphere, welcome and value for money over satellite television and tea and coffee making facilities.
