Pictures from New Zealand

Pictures from New Zealand

by KarlJohaentges (Author)

Synopsis

This book takes an appealing, informal look at New Zealand through the lens of German photographer Karl Johaentges. It is a completely revised and updated new edition of the best-selling Pictures from New Zealand, originally published in New Zealand in 1997 by Craig Potton Publishing. It reveals New Zealand's multi-cultural heritage and the warmth and spirit for which its inhabitants are known, as well as the beauty of its landscapes. Karl Johaentges's candid and striking photographs cover the length and breadth of New Zealand, from Cape Reinga to Bluff, and Fiordland to East Cape. Opening the book is an introductory essay by Annie Wheeler which gives a broad overview of the history of Aotearoa, from its origins on the super-continent of Gondwana to the new sense of place it is finding in the Pacific.
