The book carries a distinct Irish dimension, with each contributor linked to Ireland through birth, blood or residence. Several hundred albums by Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Van Morrison and others are listed by over 50 contributors. Some contributions are made by musicians, such as Bono, Donovan, Ron Wood, Marianne Faithfull, Noel Redding and Shane MacGowan. Other contributions come from writers, including Sebastian Barry, Frank McGuinness, Carlo Gebler and Dermot Healy.
