Synopsis

Kyla, Leo and Dad are visiting Granny on her birthday. Kyla wants to carry the present and promises to put it in a safe place. But on the very long journey, by foot, bus and train, she keeps leaving it behind. Dad takes over, but can he do any better?

Lucy Marcovitch started her career as a primary teacher in Leeds before moving to London to write teaching materials and non-fiction books for schools. A Safe Place is her first picture book for young children. She loves running and walking in beautiful places, reading (especially books written for children and young people), going to the theatre, music and watching her two young children grow up. Lucy lives in East London.
