The first edition of this book was published in 1983. In it Professor Miles set out his ideas on dyslexia, indicating how they developed and showing how his dyslexia test - on which many of his conclusions were based - had evolved. Though the work published at that time was somewhat speculative, the Bangor Dyslexia Test is now well established and the material in this second edition of the book is backed by theoretical justification. New chapters cover the many developments which have occurred over the past decade and bring the reader up-to-date with the latest research findings and conclusions. In addition to the many case studies drawn from UK experience, the book also includes supporting data from Greece, Germany and Japan. Written with the lay person in mind as well as the specialist, the use of technical jargon has been avoided wherever possible.
