Author Bio
Not so long ago, Ben and Helen lived in a shack-like cottage near a swamp in the Motueka Valley in the South Island of New Zealand. A marauding family of pukeko made regular forays into their garden, helping themselves to whatever they could carry away. As an artist and illustrator, Helen found these vibrantly-coloured rascals an irresistible subject and their antics seemed ideally suited to a story. Their first children?s story, The Thief of Colours, was Ben?s response to these antics. Ben and Helen now live in Lyttelton with their two children, Connor and Sophie, where they continue to write and illustrate children?s books.
