Rupert Matthews is a professional historian with over 150 books, articles and other publications to his name, including The Battle of Thermopylae: A Campaign in Context for Spellmount. To study the Crecy campaign, Rupert spent much time on the battlefields that had such an impact on events. He handled replica weapons in order to consider their use in the tactical formations of the time. Rupert lives in Surrey.
