"GQ" Cool

by JoLevin (Author)

Synopsis

Cools ...since jazz musicians coined it in the 40s and "West Side Story" refined it in the 50s, no word has better expressed our contemporary aspirations. Forget being clever, rich or beautiful. If you have cool ingredients - the mysterious, powerful "je ne sais quoi", then nothing can stand in your way. Taking readers through her most memorable GQ shoots, fashion editor Jo Levin punctuates the images which yield page-turning cool with diary extracts and punchy anecdotes. It is a book for those to whom "cool" is a word of power, interested in fashion and what makes the iconography of cool such an endurable commodity. It features icons who have defined the essence of male cool, including David Bowie, David Beckham, Harrison Ford, Samuel L. Jackson and Ewan McGregor.
