Media Reviews
A cat? What use is a cat? asks the poor miller's son. What use indeed? In some of the best traditional tales, the sleeping puss by the fireside is magically transformed into a cunning creature who slinks into the story and helps our fairytale hero find his happy ending. These cats--Puss in Boots, The White Cat, and Sir Pussycat--are no exception. This spirited collection is cleverly designed with distinctive type styles to help add realism and expression when they are read aloud, and to guide young children reading for themselves. Emma Chichester Clark has written and illustrated many highly praised books for children, including I Love You, Blue Kangaroo!; Where Are You, Blue Kangaroo?; and Little Miss Muffet's Count-Along Surprise. Laura Cecil is a well-known anthologist, whose books include Noah and the Space Ark.
