The Lord's dinner lady, for example, has worked at the MCC since 1961, and has received an honorary MBE for her services to cricket and cricketers. She admits to keeping the men in line because she likes the discipline, and has fed her appreciative guests with roast dinners and carbohydrate-rich teas for three decades. Other crafts have been laboriously learned and are painstakingly practised, and some of these cases record the last few practitioners of certain crafts.
