by Charles Saatchi (Author)
Q: Do you care what people think? A: Everyone cares what people think, but luckily I seem to care less than most. Charles Saatchi is one of the moving forces of the modern age. Founder of the global advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, and the most influential art collector of our time, he has vigorously shaped the contemporary art scene. His exhibitions, notably 1997's Sensation exhibition of the so-called Young British Artists-Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, and Chris Ofili, among others-at the Royal Academy of Art, London, and at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York, sparked an explosion of controversy. Though he famously refuses to be interviewed, in this book he provides frank, genuine responses to questions from journalists and critics as well as members of the public.

Book Overview: Insightful glimpses into the mindset of a world famous art collector and advertising guru; Charles Saatchi is one of the moving forces of the modern age, in adverting and in art.; Witty, direct and honest answers to all kinds of questions; covers subjects from Art, Money, God, Cars to Inner Peace, Friends and Humiliation.; This extended edition of a notorious book ties in well with the release of Be The Worst You Can Be, another glimpse into the psyche of the elusive and ever fascinating Charles Saatchi.
In 1970 Charles Saatchi founded the Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Agency, which grew to become the largest agency in the world. At the same time, Saatchi began collecting art and later opened his first gallery, a 30,000 square-foot former paint factory in London. His exhibitions have always focused on contemporary artists and Saatchi's Sensation exhibition on Young British Artists at the Royal Academy of Art, London, and at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York, sparked an explosion of controversy. The new Saatchi Gallery in London's King's Road is one of the largest showcases of contemporary art in the world and hosted five of the six most-visited exhibitions in London.
