Media Reviews
This novel possesses the power to make us think about an entire generation of women in a way we never have done before. INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY Humour, historical flavour, political astuteness and a style which affords the reader a pleasure akin to that of watching a bird in flight... writing like this cannot be taught. THE TIMES This is a remarkable and entertaining book: the writer creates a convincing picture of London at the turn of the century, reflecting society as it was and conveying that sense of expectation that the position of women was about to change forever. GAY SCOTLAND Compelling and beautifully written... the emotional power of the forbidden affair [will] keep you rapt until the end. THE TIMES
