Author Bio
Lucy Archer is the author of Raymond Erith, Architect, a study of Britain's leading post-war classicist. She writes and lectures about the continuing relevance of architectural tradition in the modern world. Edwin Smith was one of England's most outstanding 20th-century photographers, whose poetic eye invested his work with a rare calm and sense of infinity. Most famous for his images of the architecture and landscape of Britain, he also left a remarkable record of his extensive travels in Europe. The photographs in this work have been chosen by his widow, Olive Cook, in collaboration with the author.
