Cathy Gerrard was born in Dublin and has lived in Hungary and Italy. She has worked as a language teacher, director of a language school and as a writer and editor for an e-learning company. She now works as a freelance writer. Joseph McArdle is a member of both the Irish and English Bars. He has practised commercial law in Ireland and for the past ten years has been a legal consultant to newly independent countries in Eastern Europe.
