Contract Law Q&A (Questions and Answers)

Contract Law Q&A (Questions and Answers)

by RichardStone (Author), RichardStone (Author)

Synopsis

The purpose of this book is twofold. First, it enables the student who has made some progress with studying contract law to revise the main points of a particular area in an easily digestible way. It should be of particular help to the student who finds that the mass of detail contained in some textbooks makes it difficult to identify the most important principles and essential cases. Secondly, it teaches, by illustration, the skills needed to write good answers to contract questions. The questions and answers cover all the main areas dealt with in undergraduate and CPE contract courses. This edition, which contains a number of completely new questions, has been fully revised to take account of developments, such as the major change in the law of privity resulting from the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. Other legislation covered includes the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999. Case law incorporated includes Edmonds v Lawson (intention and consideration); Royal Bank of Scotland v Etridge (No 2) (undue influence); and Kleinwort Benson Ltd v Lincoln City Council (mistake of law). The problems of contracting over the Internet are also covered.
