Business Law 3/e

Business Law 3/e

by David Kelly (Author), Anne Holmes (Author), David Kelly (Author)

Synopsis

Business Law replaces the popular Principles of Business Law (2nd edn). It has been expanded in order to allow for a more comprehensive and up to date treatment of the key aspects of the subject area. In particular, the commercial, company and employment law sections have been expanded to take into account the many changes that have taken place in these areas. The book has been written to provide an understanding of all the key aspects of business law and is primarily designed for undergraduates on business studies courses, though many undergraduates and, indeed, others who study the law relating to business will find it useful. The book continues to cover the areas usually dealt with in such courses: the nature and sources of law; the court system; alternative dispute resolution and in particular arbitration; contract; tort; professional negligence; agency; partnership; company law; and employment law. In producing this new text, the authors have taken the opportunity to restructure it in order to provide a focus on consumer protection and the law relating to discrimination. In so doing, the authors have maintained their aim of exploring both the form and content of the legal regulation of business in a critically informed context. The contemporary nature of the book is reflected in the inclusion of such new aspects as the reform of the civil justice procedures; the Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999; the Employment Relations Act 1999; and the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999, together with numerous new cases from both domestic and European courts.
