Media Reviews
This is a winsome little book written by a much travelled and widely read pastor (who clearly has a good filing system, or secretary for storing his information). He has drawn on his memory, observational skills and lateral thinking processes in order to provide some fesh insight to those committed to learn how to pray. I felt the book's subtext was a desire to address the needs of those of us who are finding the prayer pathway heavy-going. Here are twenty short chapters which are designed to stand alone and to be dipped into at random. Most of the chapters are built around an evocative illustration or two which serve to bring to life one of the secrets of prayer. There is nothing complicated about the style or language of this book, but it is honest rather than just homely. There are relatively few references to the author's own experiences of prayer. I missed them but it does mean that the reader becomes more aware of the faithfulness and majesty of father God than of the spiritual expertise of the august author. Buy it and read it in your quiet time.--Peter Kay, Evangelism
'I hope that this readable little book will find its way into the hands of Christian people on every continent, for it will have an immediate appeal to thousands who are rediscovering the life of prayer, both individually and through prayer groups. Learn the secret of prayer! Through Christ we can find in God a heavenly Father, who hears and answers prayer. It is true to say that anyone who has ever advanced as a Christian and whose life counted for the kingdom of God has a been a person of prayer. It is my firm belief that Talking about Prayer could significantly strengthen the invisible network of praying people that God has brought into being around our world. God bless you as you read this book.'--Billy Graham
