-- George Martin, Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth, Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, USAexcellent... A wide range of subject matter is dealt with in a thoroughly readable and comprehensive way
-- Timothy G. Alford Here is a little book whose author has a burden on his heart that comes across to the reader. He begins with the biblical basis for mission, reminding us that from Genesis to Revelation God's purpose is that the gospel should go out to the whole world, and that evangelism is the primary function of the church.
There follows a delightful cameo of church history. For those who bemoan the fact that we live in a day of small things, here is a chapter to lift up the heart. But there is still more work to be done, so the continuing challenge is to take the gospel to unreached individuals and people groups, and to see new communities of believers established.
The book closes with a call for a personal response. We are to look at the world biblically and see that its people are lost, while believers here are saturated with the news of the Kingdom. We are to pray for more workers, as well as for those already on the mission field. Those who are called by the Lord on this work must go in obedience.
This is a warm, practical, challenging book. Read it, buy it for your minister, pray that it will be greatly used.
