Author Bio
Dr Gerard M. Fealy is Director of Undergraduate Studies and Assistant Head of School at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University College Dublin. He is a registered general nurse, a registered psychiatric nurse and a registered nurse tutor. He was formerly principal nurse tutor at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Dr Fealy is a prominent nursing academic and the leading nurse historian in Ireland. He has also completed a book on the history of apprenticeship nurse training in Ireland, Bright Faces and Neat Dresses, due to be published by Routledge in 2005.
