Handbook of Over the Counter Herbal Medicines

Handbook of Over the Counter Herbal Medicines

by PenelopeOdy (Author)

Synopsis

Herbal remedies are now widely available, and many people are turning to them in preference to orthodox drugs. Detailing which are licensed, and why those that are not can still be recommended, this book provides answers to questions such as how to choose the right remedy from the baffling range on offer, what the relevant ingredients are, how long they take to work, whether there are side effects, and which remedies pregnant women should avoid. An A-Z of ailments forms the bulk of the book and is complemented with suggested over-the-counter remedies and food supplements. There is also an A-Z of herbs and the scientific evidence for their uses.
