An introductory section explains the difficult concepts of projection, longitude and latitude, symbols and scale. Each double-page spread is devoted to a different region of the world and comprises a full colour map, a world locator map, information on the lives and cultures of the people of the region and an activity section. By using the activity section children are encouraged to reinforce the skills learned in the introductory section. The atlas celebrates the many cultures on the planet as well as supplying facts and figures on matters such as population, capital cities, longest rivers and highest mountains.
