A Single Act (Nick Hern Book)

by JaneBodie (Author)

Synopsis

Intensely topical new play, premiering at Hampstead, about the effect on two couples of a 9/11 type of atrocity. Scott and Michelle meet in a bar. On the other side of town, Neil returns home to find Clea still alive. But are any of them safe? Four separate trajectories. One single moment that will help to define them all. 'It's the little things isn't it? That's what's been affected. You only really notice it, if you add up the little things, all at once. Rest of it just seems to have carried on. Blink and you'd...you'd miss it.' Menacing and acutely observed, this subtle new play is the first London outing by internationally acclaimed British-born writer Jane Bodie. A Single Act is published alongside its world premiere at Hampstead Theatre, London, staged by the artistic director, Anthony Clark.

Media Reviews
Bodie's work is as cerebral as it is sexual... both funny and stunningly lyrical. Honest, human and true' Irish Times.
