Data Protection Handbook

Data Protection Handbook

by PeterCarey (Editor)

Synopsis

The Data Protection Act 1998 has significantly affected how companies can collect and process data. The Act is still being phased in and there are several new European Directives on e-commerce that affect websites and the management of data collected there. This handbook is a valuable reference for legal practitioners requiring a comprehensive overview of the rules regarding data collection and data protection. The book approaches data protection from two angles: for law firms giving advice to companies for law firms themselves as businesses. With contributions from expert practitioners, the book is practical and easy to read.

Media Reviews
'Basically, it's a great book for the price. I certainly have no hesitation recommending it to anyone who wants a fast track introduction to data protection. I can see law students buying it in bundles. If you want an introduction into the fascinating world of data protection then buy this book, because it covers all the bases. Well done to the editor and contributors and to the Law Society for this addition to what is quickly becoming an excellent library.' New Law Journal
