Setting Up and Managing a Legal Practice

Setting Up and Managing a Legal Practice

by Martin Smith (Author)

Synopsis

This invaluable guide has been completely updated. Based on the author's own experience, it provides a practical and straightforward guide to starting and running a legal practice. The first part of the book deals with starting up in business, from deciding the legal constitution of the practice to finance and advertising. The second part covers the ongoing management of the practice, including a dedicated chapter on marketing and how to manage the growth of the firm. Comprehensively revised, the book takes account of: the impact of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct 2007; the introduction of the Solicitors Regulation Authority; the implications of the Legal Services Act; the newly revised Lexcel practice management standard; and ongoing legal and regulatory developments. New to this edition, the appendices are reproduced on the accompanying CD-ROM. These include specimen documents for easy and fast customisation, saving you time and money!
