Author Bio
An award-winning scholar, poet and professor of Comparative Literature and Interdisciplinary Studies, Dr. Andree-Nicola McLaughlin has been in the international vanguard for women's advancement and other social justice struggles for more than two decades. Dr. McLaughlin is the founding International Coordinator of the International Cross-Cultural Black Women's Studies Institute (1987-), an eighteen year old global network, and holds the Dr. Betty Shabazz Distinguished Chair in Social Justice at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York where the Institute's Information Headquarters is based.
