  As part of a series designed to arouse children's curiosity in their immediate environment, this book encourages young readers to explore the familiar surroundings of their school by studying the buildings and rooms. Photographs of different types of school buildings are used to help children deduce the age of their own school and subsequently of other buildings in the vicinity. Readers are invited to examine the markings in the playground and to compare their games with those played by their teachers in the past. The simple text is interspersed with questions and examples which may help children interpret what they see around them. The books are designed for primary school project work but can also be used by children on their own. Each includes a safety warning.
