Author Bio
Jennifer Hawkins Opie is Senior Curator of Ceramics and Glass at the V&A Museum. She specializes in ceramics and glass of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and is particularly well known for her expertise in contemporary glass. She curated the exhibition Chihuly at the V&A (V&A, 2001) and was editor of the accompanying book. Opie is also the author of Scandinavia: Ceramics and Glass in the Twentieth Century (V&A, 1989) and she contributed chapters to Art Nouveau 1890-1914 (V&A, 2000) and Art Deco 1910-1939 (V&A, 2003). She is currently working on an extension to the V&A's Glass Gallery to house the international contemporary glass art featured in this book.
