  Now that Berlin is once again the capital city of the reunited Germany, its importance has changed from being on the frontline between the opposing armies of NATO and the Warsaw Pact, to most of the City's buildings are now either new or restored after the war. In the last ten years entire new districts have grown up on the site of the now disappeared Berlin Wall.
