  While Simon Drew's publication serves its purpose admirably as a birthday book, it does go far beyond the ordinary and becomes a work of true originality in its own right. Liberally sprinkled with pictorial and verbal juxtapositions, with familiar objects viewed in an unusual setting and word puns to make the reader smile at their cleverness and originality or groan at their sheer awfulness, this is a birthday book which is certainly not run-of-the-mill. Simon Drew's drawings allied to his view of the world makes for a melange of quirky nonsense.
