by Mary Lowden (Author)
A central concern of this book is the understanding of the nature of dance, and its use in primary schools. This book is not intended to be read from cover to cover. Theory is cross-referenced with lesson examples and a glossary so that the teacher can bring together dance input, ideas, content and children's developing abilites, and can find ideas, explanation, and understanding within the context of the teacher's own syllabus and lesson plans. For this reason some of the material is repeated under different sections. The 52 lesson examples are not written as recipes but are suggestions intended to spark off ideas and promote alternative ways of interpreting whatever is being discovered or investigated.
