Time for Tea Polly Wally

by KaliStileman (Author)

Synopsis

With her bright, bold and colourful artwork, Kali Stileman has created a book about food to rival Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". This is a warm, funny story that introduces animals and food types with a fun surprise, revealed when the fantastic flaps are lifted. Kali's first book, "Peely Wally", was selected to be part of the Booktrust's Books for Babies scheme. Praise for "Peely Wally": "A brilliant debut that kids will love. The superb illustrations are on a par with Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". ("The Sun").

Media Reviews
Comparisons with Eric Carle are irresistible, but despite the apparent influence, she has a style that is very much her own. The lift-the-flap finale is a creepy crawly feast that will have your audience squealing with joyful disgust (thus proving the point conclusively) -- Helen Mulley * Teach Nursery *
Yet another arresting treat for young readers from the exceedingly talented Kali Stileman . . . Each page is a riot of colour and the child-friendly language and a pop-up finale will really engage kids -- Natasha Harding * The Sun *
It's a fun story to read with simple but appealing, colourful pictures that young readers will like to look at. The unexpected flaps at the end are an extra source of delight -- Cheryl Pasquier * Madhouse Family Reviews *
Large, vividly coloured illustrations (in the style of Eric Carle!). Peep behind the cut-out leaves to find [Polly Wally's] perfect foods! -- Valerie Bierman * Carousel *
